Mobile TV Live AwardsMobile World Live is proud to have recently scooped a major award at the ConnectedWorld.TV Awards held in Amsterdam, triumphing over other nominations in the ‘B2B & Advertising Content’ category. Mobile World Live is a division of GSMA, the global organisation representing the interests of some 800 mobile operators across over 200 countries. Justin Springham and Samantha Samuel collected their award during the spectacular Gala Dinner held at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam on 12th September.

Their victory was thanks to their TV service, launched at this year’s GSMA Mobile World Congress. Four full days of event content was produced, including six hours of live-to-air television, panel discussions, interviews, news and select keynote sessions. Delivery was through broadcast to onsite locations and 12,000 rooms in 100 hotels across Catalonia, in addition to streamed content via the Internet and mobile apps. Mobile World Live Keynotes included Dr Eric Schmidt, CEO & Chairman of Google, Steve Balmer, CEO of Microsoft and Dick Costolo, CEO of Twitter.

Under the expert management of Nick Askew, Blitz was proud to supply video equipment, IT solutions and crew for the TV studio, including three Sony HXC100 HD cameras on gas pedestals, and a PPU based around a Barco FSN production switcher. Live and pre-recorded playback was handled by three Playback Pro HD systems, with further recording to Blitz dual-channel HD i2o systems.

Blitz Graphics supported the event with a pair of Pixel Power Clarity 5000HD broadcast systems for all titling and graphics requirements. In addition a Panasonic DW10000 from Blitz brought the studio backdrops to life with eye-catching projections.

Fulfilling the audio requirements of the event, Blitz’s Adam Rudd operated a Yamaha M7CL console in the studio to handle all inputs and studio routing, which was then sent to a remotely controlled LS9 desk for final broadcast output.

The ConnectedWorld.TV Awards were hosted by BPL Broadcast and ran in conjunction with the IBC2011 event.
